Chives, Henry– probably Mecklenburg County; “Chivas” in a list of men issued warrants 27 May 1784 for services in militia. (AAXXII: 18)

Clinton, John– probably Mecklenburg County; In a list of men issued warrants 27 May 1784 for services in militia. (AAXXII: 18)

Cochran, Hugh– “Hugh Coughran” a Private on a “pay roll for provitions found in Capt Peter A. Sturgises company of Kentuckey County Millitia in actual service under command of Col. George R. Clerk on an expedition against the Shewanee Towns commenceing July the 18th 1780 and ending the 21st of Augst. 1780” (APA 206, Box 662).

Condry, John– probably Mecklenburg County; In a list of men issued warrants 27 May 1784 for services in militia. (AAXXII: 20)

Connelly, Arthur- Augusta County; At a court martial 13 March 1776, Arthur Connally Sr summoned to show why his son Arthur did not appear at general muster 12 March; 17 Oct 1776, Arthur Sr summoned for not appearing at four musters, Capt William Anderson; 17 Apr 1777, exempted from duty in future, and the summonses issued against him & his sons dismissed.  [ACCM:56, 63, 70]

Coyle, James– [certificate] 6 Aug 1776, James Coyle served as a soldier 15 days in a company of Fincastle militia under command of Capt Isaac Bledsoe and is now discharg’d [signed] Henry Dickinson…19 Nov 1776, James Coyle servd. as soldier 101 days in a company of Fincastle militia “my command” in actual duty at the Glade Hollow Station and now hath his discharge [signed] Jno. Dunkin Capt….[the following appears on reverse of the previous two entries] 16 Sept 1789, Judah Coile appeared before Charles Buckley JP for Russell County and made oath that she found this account with her husband’s papers after his death and that there was never any satisfaction received for the same (APA 238).
