Jameson, Robert– Virginia issued warrant 10 Nov 1783 to Robert Jameson “for his services in the militia under Captain Samuel McCutchan from Augusta in 1781” (Library of Virginia, Record Group 48, Auditor of Public Accounts, Inventory Entry 34, “Daybooks: Receipts and Warrants,” Auditors’ Account Volume XVIII, 44). This man received a federal pension.

Jeffries, Matthew– “Matthew Jefferis” a Private on a “pay roll for provitions found in Capt Peter A. Sturgises company of Kentuckey County Millitia in actual service under command of Col. George R. Clerk on an expedition against the Shewanee Towns commenceing July the 18th 1780 and ending the 21st of Augst. 1780” (APA 206, Box 662).

Johnson, Howell– probably Mecklenburg County [two?]; two entries for Howell “Johnston” in a list of men issued warrants 27 May 1784 for services in militia. (AAXXII: 19)
