Ofrield, Jeremiah- “Jerimiah Ofreild,” Augusta Co Court Martial 22 Oct 1778, summoned to show cause why he appeared at muster of 4 Sep 1778 without arms. [ACCM:90]

Ogullion, Duncan– see also Gulion; Montgomery County; 6 April 1779, Warrant from Walter Crockett and James McGavock to the Sheriff; “Whereas complaint has been made to us upon oath that John Henderson, Jacob Darter, Joseph Irwin, Joseph McFarland, Daniel Atter, John Stephens, Dunkin Ogullion, Philip Myer, William Black, Daniel Liberton, Daniel McKinsey, John Cox, Nathaniel Britain and Philip Lambert have entred into a conspiracy to seize the publick magaziens, and then to proceed to kill murder and lay waste this county,” warrant to apprehend them (LVA, Montgomery County Commonwealth Causes, barcode 1048926).

Oker, John- Rockingham County Court 24 Oct 1780, an information returned by the State Deputy Attorney for not giving in his taxable property, ordered summoned to answer. [ROCKING:78]

Oldham, William- Augusta Co Court Martial 17 Oct 1776, summoned for not appearing at twelve musters, Capt Bell. [ACCM:64]

O’Neal, James- Augusta Co Court Martial 17 Apr 1777, “Oneale” summoned for not appearing at muster 16 Apr 1777, Capt Robertson; 16 Oct 1777, fined for musters of 16 Apr 1777 and 14 Oct 1777; Court Martial 27 Oct 1778, returned for appearing at muster 6 Apr 1778 without arms, and returned for not appearing at muster 18 June 1778, fined for 18 June 1778. O’Neal, John- Augusta Co Court Martial 21 Oct 1778, Capt Lockridge’s delinquents, O’Neal having been summoned for not going out when drafted 5 Oct 1778, determined that after the division of Augusta Co he was now a resident of Rockbridge Co, therefore the court could take no action against him. [ACCM:85]

Onley, John- Accomack Co, on a list of delinquents who did not appear at muster 5 June 1778, Capt Robert Coleburn. [ACCOM1]

Orange, William- Norfolk; Native of England, went to America 1740; Returned to England 1771; Lost property at Norfolk. [C:373-4]

Orre, Edward– Jailed in Bedford County for 50 days in 1780 on suspicion of toryism (Abercrombie, vol 1, 99).

Overstreet, Thomas Jr.– Jailed for 1 day in Bedford County in 1780 on suspicion of toryism (Abercrombie, vol 1, 99).

Owens, John– Jailed in Bedford County for 6 days in 1780 on suspicion of toryism (Abercrombie, vol 1, 99).

Owens, Owen– Bedford County Court 24 July 1780, Commonwealth vs Owen Owens, on an information for a breach of an “Act for the punishment of certain offences,” he was found guilty, fined 50 pounds and sentenced to imprisonment 5 years. The statute in view, enacted in Oct 1776, provided that individuals who “by any word, open deed, or act, advisedly and willingly maintain and defend the authority, jurisdiction, or power, to the king or parliament of Great Britain” would be subject to fine or imprisonment.
