Yager, John– Eckenrode, vol 2, 333 cites Rev. Army v. 1, Reg. 37. Rev. Army v. 1, also known as Register of Non-Commissioned Officers and Privates 1777-1783, accession 24296 in the Library of Virginia, is a size roll of Continental Line Soldiers who enlisted at various places in Virginia. Harris’ transcript of the roll at http://revwarapps.org/b81.pdf shows that Yager was sized 27 Apr 1781 at Chesterfield Courthouse, was 18 years old, 5’4″, black hair, gray eyes, fair complexion, a Planter residing in Culpeper County, born “mellen[?] Town,” engaged as a substitute in Culpeper County 6 Mar 1781 for the term of 1 year and 6 months.
