Vanhozer, Valentine– Russell County; [the following regards the account of Patrick Porter. It is two sided sheet that appears to relate mostly the receipt of beef for Duncan’s Fort] Duncan’s Fort, 28 July 1778, received for use of troops from “Vallintin Vanhozer” a steer appraised to 12 pounds by Rawley Duncan and Benjamin Nicholson, wit. Patrick Porter….also 15 Aug 1778, 333 pounds of neat beef (Library of Virginia, Record Group 48, Auditor of Public Accounts, Inventory Entry 238, “General Claims Approved,” arranged by county).

Van Meter, Isaac- Hampshire County, 11 June 1781, Col Garret Van Meter certifies that Isaac Vanmeter rode 160 miles as an express on publick business in carrying dispatches to Col Enoch Innis late County Lieutenant (Library of Virginia, Auditor of Public Accounts Inventory 139, “General Contingent Fund,” Accession 1081005, folder 1781).
